"He that hath an ear let him hear"
Idols: trusting, worshiping other things in your life besides God, or whatever or whomever stands between you and Almighty God.
...narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life............. according to Matthew 7:14 ......few there be that find it.
Why?
Because of their desire to find a god of their liking, a "golden calf" god....one that looks pretty, listens well and most of all doesn't talk back, which is a sign to them that they have the god's approval on their fleshly desires. The "church members" blindly trust traditions and doctrines (their idols) to lead them into such errors as;...walking the aisle, shaking the preacher's hand, dunking in or sprinkling with water, having an emotional experience, having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof. We've gone into the "entertainment church" business ...selling tapes, t-shirts, croquet lessons, bridge and pea knuckle, bingo, dancing, date-mate services, body building, psychiatry and other new age philosophies and recreations of all sorts to delight and tickle the fleshly man. The foolishness of preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ whereby men will be saved has turned to worldly music, even sometimes to be religious it's called "gospel music".
Preach prosperity of the physical man and get a crowd, preach holiness, which without no man will see God, and get but a few dumb followers and you will be labeled a heretic and cultist. My brothers and sisters you can't look out into the crowds at the malls, the beaches, or in the churches and tell who the Christians are...they all dress, look, talk and act alike....my God this should not be!
The Prophet Amos warned on these days and these people,
chapter 8, "Behold the days are coming declares the Lord, when I will send a famine on the land, not a famine of bread or thirst for water, but rather for hearing the Word of the Lord, and the people will stagger in (spiritual) darkness from sea to sea and from the north to the east they will go to and fro to seek a Word from The Lord, but they will not find it. The accepted truths today are half-truths that have been shaped like the "golden calf" by hands of men of religion to capture the hearts of the people and tricking them to support "their ministry", their-church of spreading the gospel of materialism, prosperity, name-it and claim-it by building bigger buildings with all the icing on the cake for sweeter (deceiving half-truths)........ministry that looks good to the eye and like the "golden calf" can't talk back.
We select special revival ministers by who can draw a crowd, raise the biggest offerings, tell the best jokes and tickle the ears of the people. So, what say it, if thy eye be single, it is the light of the body. We take a part of the Gospel....each group a separate truth, go off by ourselves and claim to all, that our group has got it all, and ask people to come join, follow and support us and say that we've got all you'll ever need...this is idolatry they are lords of their own, leading others into religious customs. Now that they have their "religion" they go off deceived and deceiving. We have forgotten that He has called us to holiness.... Be ye Holy for I am Holy. 1 Peter 1:14
Many are lost and dying because none told them that you have to be led by the Spirit of God to be a Son of God....instead sign up with us, once you've got it that is it, that's enough forever, you are saved and on your way to Heaven no matter what...you can't lose it. Remember you can't always trust Brother So and So's teachings without checking it out with the Word of God...many are blinded with a veil over them by the god of this world, the god of darkness, 2 Cor. 4:3-4.
Please, remember that conception is not birth...an intimate relationship between a man and a woman does not always produce birth...a seed may be planted and yet aborted. The same is true with the Word of God in the heart of man. It must be planted in good soil and it must be guarded from the evil one stealing it away. It must be nourished and tended and acted on as believing. Being born again is an action that will produce a different way of life. It's like the Lord Jesus said about the wind...you see the results but you don't see It. You must believe before you see. A born again life will produce fruit, as a tree, of it's own kind. The Fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance. Gal. 5:22-23.
The Great Falling Away will be those as Jesus described in Matthew chapter 13...the word that was sown and understandeth it not then cometh the wicked one and catcheth it away. It was not sown in good soil and laid by the way side (not put to use, ponder on in the heart, acted on, believed) or they are like the seed that was sown upon a stoney heart and without root (not grounded in the Word, storing it in the heart and speaking it with the mouth) but, when tribulation and persecution came they were offended and died for there was no root in the Word. There is one also that (looks back at the world) because of the cares of the world, the deceitfulness of riches and it chokes the Word and he becomes unfruitful....and so it be that by their fruit (Gal.5:22) ye shall know them. (Mat. 7:16).
Where there is no genuine repentance people will try to do the work of God (Let him hear) through the strength of the flesh...in the worldly systems men by their competitive nature try to make it to the top...in the Church they come to the Lord not with all their hearts, as commanded by Jesus, so there is no true repentance of pride, rebellion...there must be a death of self before there can be a born again man. Men try by whatever means available to get to the top of their religious organization. The religious churches today are no more than "towers of babel"...trying to be bigger and better in everything and because they operate on half-truths (perverting the Word of God) and half-pride and greed, you can guess it...they are never satisfied, but always are lusting for more....power, followers, money....not like Jesus said love one another (John l5:12, but loving themselves and their thing...their "golden calf".......their idol......and they have become apart of the apostate church....The Great Falling Away from God.
FAITH STATEMENT:
The Bible, infallible Word of God. He is The Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Jesus is the Son of God who was born of a virgin, died on the cross, rose the third day, sent back as promised the Holy Spirit to indwell the believers and that all the Gifts of the Spirit operate today. He'll be back soon to reign here on earth. Without faith you can't please Him.
HOW THIS ALL CAME ABOUT.....
God spoke to me in January '94 and said "Buy a computer, start back doing the Outreach Newsletters (prophetic) you were doing in the early '90's, make them bilingual, prepared ready for international distribution." A few days later, during one of the network evening newscast they were reporting that the major lines of communications during the Los Angeles earthquake was the computer E-mail network, and the Lord said "get on that". I found a computer for sale in the want ads, I didn't even know what one looked like...so here I am the most unlikely person to ever be computing, but with the help of God (where He calls, He guides, and provides), and the help of my thirteen year old grandson, Micah...here I am. In a few more days I logged on to the CompuServe network...the same day the ChristianInteractive Network started. And, with that opening sign on, I gave my testimony and then I realized this was another fulfillment of a Word from the Lord a few years ago to me, when He said..."get some business cards printed and say Bill Eaton, a Servant of Jesus Christ, called to take His Word to the uttermost, separated unto the Gospel of God.".... I laughed (as Sarah did, remember?) and so have a lot of people since that time when they have read my calling card....but that's ok, at that time I didn't even own a car....but God has taken me around the world, all over the former Soviet Union, Siberia...rode the Trans- Siberian railway six thousand miles from Moscow to the sea of Japan planting ten Churches, all over from border to border, sea to sea in Mexico preaching Jesus, baptizing, and setting the captives free, shared the Gospel in many of the churches here in the States. After all this I still couldn't visualize "to the uttermost", at least physically and financially...but now, with the "punch of a button" (click of the mouse)I realize that the Word of God to me will not return to Him void...and yes, they're still laughing....but not quite as loud. I look forward to what God has in store for this work..Amen.
